Top Tools Apps on Android in the US: Q2 2025

In the second quarter of 2025, the tools app category on the Android platform in the United States saw varied performances among its top applications. According to Sensor Tower data, these apps demonstrated distinct trends in downloads and active user engagement.

QR & Barcode Scanner from Gamma Play maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads peaking at around 116K in early May. However, downloads experienced a gradual decline towards the end of the quarter, settling at approximately 81K. Its weekly active users began at 3.4M, fluctuating throughout the period, and ended at 2.7M.

The Brightest Flashlight Launcher by AtomApplications saw a significant surge in downloads, starting from 55K and reaching a high of 147K in mid-May. Active users followed a similar trend, beginning at 425K and climbing to 667K by quarter’s end.

Move to iOS, developed by Apple, experienced relatively stable weekly downloads, with figures hovering around 83K. Its active user base saw an increase mid-quarter, peaking at 209K in mid-June before slightly declining to 168K.

Samsung Smart Switch Mobile from Samsung Electronics maintained consistent download numbers, with a peak of 89K in early May, and active users varied between 1.1M and 1.6M, ending at 1.1M.

Finally, JumpJumpVPN – Super Unlimited showed an interesting pattern with a substantial spike in downloads, reaching 321K in late June. Active user numbers remained more stable, starting at 29K and closing the quarter at 27K.
